Children's Privacy Notice

1. Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Family Quest is designed as a family tool where parents maintain full control. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the General Data Protection Regulation for children (GDPR-K, Article 8), and the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law as they apply to children's data.

2. Parental Consent

Children cannot create accounts on their own. A parent or legal guardian must:

• Create the parent account first
• Add each child to the family manually
• Set the child's name, age, avatar, and PIN
• By adding a child, the parent consents to the collection described in this notice

3. Data We Collect About Children

All data about children is entered by parents. We collect:

• First name (no last name required)
• Age
• Avatar choice (from predefined options — no photo uploads)
• PIN code (encrypted, for login)
• Task completion records
• In-app currency (coins), XP, level, and badge data
• Device tokens (for push notifications, if enabled by parent)

4. What We Do NOT Collect From Children

• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Physical/mailing addresses
• Geolocation data
• Social media identifiers
• Behavioral data for advertising
• Biometric data
• Any data from third-party trackers

5. How We Use Children's Data

• Display their name and avatar within the family
• Track task completion and award coins/XP
• Maintain level, badge, and streak progress
• Send push notifications (if enabled by parent)
• Display their progress to parents

6. No Advertising to Children

We do not display advertisements to children. We do not use children's data for behavioral advertising, profiling, or marketing. We do not share children's data with advertisers or data brokers. The service is free — we do not monetize children's data in any way.

7. Parental Rights

Parents and legal guardians have the right to:

• View all data collected about their child
• Edit or correct their child's information
• Delete their child's account and all associated data
• Disable push notifications for their child
• Export their child's data
• Withdraw consent (by deleting the child's profile)

8. Data Retention for Children

Children's data is retained only while the child's profile is active in the family. When a parent removes a child from the family, or deletes their own account, all associated children's data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
